Polish Himalaysts Artur Hajzer, Adam Bielecki, and Tomasz Wolfart reached the summit Makalu (8463m) on 30th September 2011 without oxygen and support of high altitude porters, under strenuous and difficult conditions, this autumn. It was a part of the program “Polish Winter Himalayan Mountaineering 2010-2015″ under patronage of the President of the Republic of Poland, Bronisław Komorowski. The video below shows the moment when they were approaching the summit. Moreover, we can admire the view of Himalayas as the day was very sunny with a deep blue sky.
The summary of the expedition reveals that unfortunately two of them Tomasz Wolfart and Maciej Stańczak had problems during descending and currently are under hospital treatment.
